Where does the meter box have to go on the house in the state of PA? Can it be on a porch with a roof? Also, where in the PA code does it state the rules? Thanks.
Generally the POCO will indicate where the service will hit the home, then the Licensed Electrical contractor would follow NEC and local codes regarding placement of the service and then the AHJ would have the last say if he will allow the meter location. If there are no codes or no one to inspect the installation you would most likely have to have a discussion with the contractor doing the work and agree with his suggestion as to the placement of the meter, bare in mind who ever does the installation should at least read the NEC rules on standard safe electrical installation of electrical equipment, a copy of the NC is normally available in the local library.
