What are the thoughts of electric panels being mounted directly to a masonry wall. Ive always heard they should be mounted to wood.
From an NEC perspective it’s fine attached directly to the masonry. If it’s a wet location then a 1/4" space is required which is typically provided by the dimples on the back of the enclosure. The nice thing about a wood backboard is that you have a place to staple the cables entering the panel.
More than half the panels in Florida are mounted on masonry
