electrical panels in closets...

I know on new construction there are not supposed to be fuse boxes or subpanels in clothes closets, but what about the alarm electrical boxes ?

Inside the alarm panel box it all the connections, (low voltage) and battery, for power failure back-up.

The electrical box for the alarm system also has a dedicated receptacle in the closet, under the box, and has the power source plugged into it.

The box is located @ 6 feet high, and measures @ 12x12x6.
The dedicated receptacle is located @ 5 feet high from the floor, and looks like it has been getting too much heat (dark streak on the wall @ 4 inches tall)
The alarm power is the only "appliance" plugged in.
There is also a computer network box that has network connection cables plugged into it with a removable cover for access.
Other than the slight dark streak on the wall from possible overheating,
are these "panels" acceptable, or in need of repair ?

Thanks,
Darren

Thats where I usually find the alarm panel. In a closet.

I sure hope it's ok cuz I have never said anything about it.

It is not a NEC violation that I am aware of.

Working space requirements may apply.
