energy efficient pot lights (posted by fred henderson)

[ASKNACHI]This question was posted on AskNACHI.org by fred henderson (from Brampton, Ontario). [/ASKNACHI]I am installing pot lights in my basement. I am looking for one that would be suitable for energy efficient bulbs, and the bulbs would not extend beyond the housing. Every unit I have seen is not deep enough for the bulb.
Are you aware of a pot light/energy efficient bulbs that would solve this issue?

There are a number of CFL bulbs that fit in a recessed light.

a few can be found here.

Hope this helps

Light Emitting Diode (LED) bulbs are now available for reccessed fixtures. 50,000 hours, 12 watts is equal to about 60 watts of incandescent in light output and they are practically room temperature.

Kenton- are these special recessed cans or typical cans that you screw in the LED?

Thanks

Pot Lights?

Don’t you have to use those special grow lights for that?

Scott, I’m looking at the picture and can’t tell. I’d post the picture but for some reason I don’t have that option. You can see a picture of one here, you’ll have to scroll down a little. It looks sealed to me.
