Attached is my essay for Mold Remediator and Mold Assessor Course.

The article on “Avoiding Law Suits” sets forth a 14 step plan to help the inspector protect themselves from law suits, and some steps to take during the inspection process in order to insure success should they be sued. An inspector should incorporate their business to prevent personal liability. The inspector as a member of NACHI should follow their “Standards of Practice”. They should use a pre inspection agreement, and a satisfaction survey. These will assist them should they become involved in a law suit. If the inspector settles a dispute with a client they should always obtain a signed release form.
