Estimates

Had a clients rude and arrogant RE call me today and state that the seller wanted estimates on the items I found wrong on their home so she could negotiate a price. I told her that most of the items required further evaluation by a specialist such as electrician, PE, HVAC tech, etc, and I couldn’t render an estimate even if I wanted to. She insisted that I draw something up! I politely told her no can do! Would like comments on how others would handle this! Thanks.

Ask the RE agent what the house is selling for and tell him/her that it should be under that amount!! icon_lol.gif

I sure wouldn't want to give an estimate...they'd probably come back to you if you were too low!!!

Robert,

Try this: Generate the estimates. Charge $150/hr to develop the report. Minimum fee of 8 hours.
