Extend-A-Chimney

Today's other attic (I'm going to disconnect my phone). Hip roof added a couple of years ago over a torch-down flat roof. Oil fired furnace chimney. I think we've got problems with the fit of the extension. The black area is not a shadow!

Evidently they only cut the closet access hatch yesterday knowing there was going to be an inspection (no access before that). They then proceeded to re-install all the darn closet organizers which I had to dismantle (grrrr). Makes me wonder if they were hoping I wouldn't go up there after all. The main plumbing stack also had issues...extended with a flex dryer vent stuffed into the old vent.

Hi Richard,

I hope you recommended that they service the boiler as you can see from that shot that it ain't burning to cleanly ![icon_lol.gif](upload://zEgbBCXRskkCTwEux7Bi20ZySza.gif) ![icon_lol.gif](upload://zEgbBCXRskkCTwEux7Bi20ZySza.gif) ![icon_lol.gif](upload://zEgbBCXRskkCTwEux7Bi20ZySza.gif) ![icon_lol.gif](upload://zEgbBCXRskkCTwEux7Bi20ZySza.gif)

That is definately one of the most stupid additions I have ever seen.

Gerry

I hope you also called out a structural engineer to evaluate the wrong framing.
