Can anyone tell me what the trip or melting temperature is for a Fire-O-Matic emergency oil shut-off valve would be as installed in a single family home and where is the proper location for the valve, at the tank or burner. I see them located in both locations. Fire-O-Matic says they should be installed at the burner.
The manufacturer “trumps” everyone else. ![]()
manufacturer instructions are always the best to adhere to. Most codebooks site the manufacturer instructions first, then take the fallback stance of “or authority having jurisdiction”.
I did see this website that gave a melting temperature, however they are not the manufacturer and this information could be incorrect.
question of the day i guess…
