Got my first home inspection booked. Looking for any tips. Its my first home and im nervous and want to do my best thanks for any feedback. Im going with inspector pro insurance and the house was built in the 80s its a manufactured home. Just nervous i guess and looking for any guidance and good approaches you all have used or taken. Thanks
Julio, this is a good time to make sure that your inspection software captures everything in your standard of practice.
Now is the time to set up a routine. I typically start with the roof and work my way down around the exterior. I then begin on the interior at the front door and inspect in a clockwise rotation.
Figure out what works for you so that you never miss anything. Try to arrange your inspection software according to your routine so that you start at the beginning of your software and work your way down according to your inspection methods. Best of luck don’t be nervous.
I’m new also, haven’t done one yet but there are plenty in my area. Taking the mobile home course on Nachi as we speak, I was surprised at the amount of stuff on there, especially with space requirements/ clearances involved. There’s a lot of knowledge to be gained or nit-picked depending on your level of forgiveness lol !, but if you haven’t taken the course I’d highly recommend it.
As Nick Saban says “Act like you been here before”
Welcome to the InterNACHI forum, Julio.
I used an inspection template and moved along at a pace I felt comfortable with.
Keep to SoP and good luck.
