First US bank collapse of 2024

So, the OP claims the first failure of 2024 was due to Bidenomics. Tom says the article says otherwise. What say you? What was the context of the bank failure?

I’m not sure. From my limited viewpoint, bank failures increase during significant economic distress, such as the Great Recession. High asset loss appears to be the prominent indicator. So, it is not unreasonable to draw conclusions based on recent history.

Me neither. The chart seems very sporadic. I think there might be many factors at play here. We are almost to the halfway point of 2024 though, and only one bank failure evidently so far, and their assets seem to be very small according to the chart. I’m not chasing this one into the weeds, lol.

The ones that want to “chase into the weeds” are using a false narrative as they tend to do. The bank failed due to piss poor management. Nothing to do with the economy. But we have those that want to blame it elsewhere…

It’s an election year. Lots of gaslighting, misinformation, and faux outrage yet to come.

Including our own government sources and agencies. And I am not talking about the politicians; I am talking about the uni-party deep state bureaucracy. They want to keep that calf fat and they know how to do it.

Interesting seeing the “Deep State” ideology walking both side of the isle and tippy toeing back and forth to meet their agenda…

It’s all doom and gloom until “their guy” gets to be in charge again. Then everything is rosy. By rosy, I mean the same, just with their guy in office, lol.

And a bank’s failure is their own fault, not those who are on the golf course,

At least we know Biden can’t golf. He might nap a lot, but golf I don’t think he does, lol.

Wrong. This is where words matter. You may say, " The OP implied it was due to Bidenomics." You can not say, “…the OP claims it was due to Bidennomics.” because that is simply not true. Just because you inferred something from an article or post does not make it what was written or meant. It more probably reveals how you would like to interpret something, but definitely diminishes the credibility of your replies. The question is now, “Do you do this with everything you read?”

Since 2001, 563 banks have collapsed, an average of about 25 banks per year , according to data from the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp., which insures deposits and provides other protections to financial institutions. Nothing new here, just Sky is Falling babble.

Take a moment and look above at the FDIC provided information for the time of the great recession around 2009+. Were those bank failures “sky is falling babble?” Because the sky fell pretty damn hard and so did those banks.

Yeah, I forgot those were the GW Bush (R) years after all.

You on drugs? Obama was elected in 2008.

Bush legacy. Same drugs as you.

That’s a consistent Democratic theme song. My predecessor caused all the problems I’m having. Waa, Waa! Just like sheep you all buy it and run with it. “What fools these Democrats be.” That might be Shakespeare.
