I have always just automatically put roll roofing or tar and gravel on my flat roofs (rooves?) and had never seen composition on a flat roof. What’s the verdict on comp on flat roofs?

Russel, I may not understand your question. But if your talking about composition shingles. I was thinking they should be on a 2/12 roof or greater in most areas.

I had one of those rubber roofs on the house I owned in the burg. Da** thing leaked constantly. Finally failed permanently a year after I sold the house. I am pretty sure it was made by Carlisle Tire & Rubber. I don't like them but am kinda curious why you downrate them if they are coated. Maybe because that is indicating a leak that was sealed?

I’m going to have to visit ya’ll in Pennsylvania some day, or maybe just anywhere outside of Southern California. All these interesting things you have to inspect. Our inspections typically are dull, boring, and uninteresting. Maybe once every 50 inspections we see something exciting, and when we do, you know what that means.
