The IRC states ducts in the garage must be constructed of a minimum of #26 gage steel or other approved material.


What other material is approved?

Can flexible ducts be used?

The ones I am questioning just pass through the garage space.

"Other materials" would be in compliance with the 20 min fire rating of the garage wall.
