Flexible gas line

Hi does anyone know if the yellow flexible appliance gas line is permitted in South Carolina for water heaters or does it need to be hard piped in thanks.

Gas appliance connectors may be used in South Carolina. This is a state that will require seismic straps on the water heater. I have never seen a water heater hard piped here.
