Hi, I was wondering if they had ran into this situation in Florida, I just had a new shingle roof installed with the peel and stick underlayment, and the installers deviated from the installation instructions. First, they applied the peel and stick membrane (SecureGrip Ice and Water) directly to the OSB. Then they installed the drip edge at the rake and eaves on top of the membrane and Applied a coat of roof cement over the rake and drip edge to cover the nails. Next, a starter row was applied and then shingles. The manufacturer directions read “ for eave installation, Sure Grip Ice and Water should be applied over the metal drip edge at the eave.” A representative from the roofing company states we’ve never done it this way. This could be done up north where they have ice dams we don’t have that situation here. So I’m wondering, whether or not to make a issue out of this or not? The county has not come out to inspect as of yet. Any thoughts or suggestions?
