Hi:


Is any one else finding the 1 x 4 & 2 x 4 wood form braces embedded in the concretre foundations of residential homes ?

I am seeing this a lot in my area, Surrey, & Vancouver areas of British Columbia.

I am writting this up in my reports as incorrect due to the future probability of moisture weeping into structural framing components.

Insect infestations & habitation.

When I was in construction we never left wood embedded in the concrete foundation, any where. Some times we even used a chain and a back hoe to pull stuck wood framing out.

Yep, you see that here on the sunshine coast. The wood rots and allows insects like termites to make a nice little channel through and into the home.
