I have been contacted twice in the past 3 months with fraudulent requests for inspections. The recent one is a different twist on the approach. The person texted and said they are the seller of the property and need an inspection done. They said they already had an agreement with a buyer and they need an inspection with sewer scope and water testing (That was odd). They would not identify their agent and requested all communication be only through them. I contacted the listing agent directly and they verified that this person was not the property owner. The person identified themselves as Clayton Sholar (Fake name) using phone # 480-931-9889. Keep your head up and do not accept prepayment by check in the mail (I didn’t but that is the ultimate goal of the scam).

You got Clayton’s last name??? I’ve had the same idiot reach out to me from the same number 3 or 4 times. Nothing new… Refusing to call, will only “proceed” via text… Funny thing is each time he acts like it is the first time he reached out to me.

I got the same call from the same number although they used the name of Thompson. They gave an invalid address which was red flag #1 for me. Came across this forum post and that sealed it for me. Blocked the number.
