Hi Everyone,

just an FYI, we were completely shut down communications wise yesterday.

We had a contractor blow through the main phone lines into 10 buildings and 130+ businesses with a dip-witch yesterday…

We are up and running again.

Sincerely,

Chris Butler

Do you mean Ditch-Witch? Dip-Witch would be the term used for the operator of said Ditch-Witch. ![nachi_sarcasm.gif](upload://6HQh6KbNiD73gqTNQInjrR2zeJw.gif)

You are observant aren’t you Mr. Dacey…

And noticed my play of words…

Let’s put it this way…

they gave the dip-witch operator the day off…

as about 30+ business owners wanted this guys head on a platter…

the rest of us just stood there and said “well they’ll handle him for us”…

always always call I Dig first - regardless of what the plans say where the lines are located…

but that is common sense - and we all know that humans lack that occasionally…

that is why there are called mistakes…

Once again, sorry to anyone that we inconvenienced.

Sincerely,

Chris Butler

Construction Contractor - Never!

I will tell you this…

this will not be a small claim for these guys…

As long as their agent properly covered them that is…

if he didn’t, whoa boy…

loss of business for 130+ businesses for 1 day…

this will be a claim anywhere from $200,000 to $500,000 depending on how many file against the contractor…

Isn't that true... Had it been us we would have counted our blessings to be off work for the day, and gone to the local pub to buy that ditch witch operator a beer ![icon_biggrin.gif](upload://iKNGSw3qcRIEmXySa8gItY6Gczg.gif)

Made me recall when our plumber sliced through lines in front of a building we were doing. He shut down Kennedy Space Center, 911 system and the lines that banks use to transmit financial information. President Reagan was called because of the space center.

We were sent a bill for 850 thousand. Unfortunately for them their lines were 2 foot out of their easement. They had to come back and survey the whole street and put the lines back where they belonged.
