Permissible restrictions on expression

Despite the broad freedom of expression guaranteed by the First Amendment, there are some historically rooted exceptions. First, the government may generally restrict the time, place, or manner of speech, if the restrictions are unrelated to what the speech says and leave people with enough alternative ways of expressing their views. Thus, for instance, the government may restrict the use of loudspeakers in residential areas at night, limit all demonstrations that block traffic, or ban all picketing of people’s homes.

Second, a few narrow categories of speech are not protected from government restrictions. The main such categories are incitement, defamation, fraud, obscenity, child pornography, fighting words, and threats. As the Supreme Court held in Brandenburg v. Ohio (1969), the government may forbid “incitement”—speech “directed at inciting or producing imminent lawless action” and “likely to incite or produce such action” (such as a speech to a mob urging it to attack a nearby building). But speech urging action at some unspecified future time may not be forbidden.

Once there was a parrot in a pet store who spoke his mind.

A Marxist/woke woman walked into the pet store and approached the parrot who immediately became visibly agitated. He said to the Marxist “My word, lady. You have to be the ugliest human being to ever come in here! Please leave and have a surgeon reconstruct your horribly deformed face before returning. YUK!!”

The woman immediately flew into a rage and threatened the owner of the pet store with a lawsuit if he did not stop his parrot from offending her. The owner shook his head and told the Marxist “He says what he thinks, lady. If you don’t like it, don’t come back here.” She stormed out and slammed the door behind her, but not before she heard the bird call out “Good riddance, you ugly pig.”

For reasons that only woke people understand, the woman returned the next day … and the parrot shrieked and greeted her in the same way as the previous day. “I’m going to vomit if this unspeakably ugly woman does not leave. I can’t take another minute of being within spitting distance of that disgustingly ugly face! Who does your hair, lady? Ben Gromicko?”

The woman ran from the store and directly to her attorney who managed to obtain a hearing with the court to ask for a cease-and-desist order, forbidding the parrot from making any remarks about the woman’s appearance, which the court granted.

Upon receipt of the cease-and-desist order, the woman went directly to the pet store and gave it to the owner. As she read it to the owner aloud, the parrot laughed at her and said “Did you appear before the judge yourself or was it your lawyer? One look at that ugly face of yours and the judge would have sided with me and threw you out. You are, after all, the uglies woman in the entire state.”

Incensed, the woke Marxist fled the store and went directly to the judge asking for an order to have the parrot euthanized. After some thought, the judge agreed that any future remarks made by the parrot to the woman about her appearance would result in the bird being euthanized.

Smiling with anticipation, the woman ran to the store and read the judge’s new order aloud to the pet store owner within hearing distance of the bird. After reading the order, she walked up to the parrot and smiled. “Is there something you would like to say to me now, parrot?”

The parrot looked closely at the woman from head to toe. He squawked once, winked at her with his right eye, and said “You know.”

Proving, beyond the shadow of a doubt, that parrots do not have free speech. If we keep going forward with this “woke” Marxist crap no person in this country will have free speech.

I heard an interesting concept in a talk the other day. Tyranny is built on a lie. Now we all know this to be true but rarely think about it. Hitler’s first lies were about the Jews whom he demonized and persecuted. Each of his trusted generals lied to keep their heads. The Generals lieutenants lied to keep the Generals happy and so on down the line. each of the citizenry lied to survive. Tyranny is top down lies. Everybody lies to survive.

Now we come to present day USA. We have lies about white privilege, lies about the environment, lies about systemic racism, lies about founding fathers. Lies about Covid. Congressmen and women who lie to keep their jobs, and we are all encouraged to perpetuate these lies so we won’t be “cancelled” or lose our jobs. In short we have tyranny being created right at your doorstep. Doesn’t look good.

Me: I have no problem with anyone peacefully protesting (meaning not physically harming or otherwise impeding or infringing on another’s rights, doing damage to property…etc) On any Public Property! There should be no buffer zones and or anything like (designated) Free Speech Zones set up by any government entity.

The Sad thing is when those on one side or the other want to pass laws or ordinances infringing Only on the rights of the opposition when it comes to such matters. The Right and The Left are equally as bad at passing Unconstitutional Laws and Ordinances infringing on the Rights of Free Americans.
