Students joined Certified Master Inspector® Lon Henderson at the Boulder House of Horrors® to debate PVC vs. ABS exhaust flues for high-efficiency condensing appliances. They learned about the importance of condensate neutralizers and the science behind various HVAC codes and regulations.
They also explored the history of combustion air requirements through hands-on training, gaining a deeper understanding of why these requirements matter. Additionally, they discussed common HVAC problems, including issues with condensate in both 80% and high-efficiency systems, as well as combustion air calculations. Students also gained valuable insight into furnace categories, efficiencies, and venting.
