Busy Home Inspection company in Austin is looking for an inspector. Home inspection experience not required.
PREFERRED requirements:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Good computer skills
IR training a plus
Good industry relationships (Knowing agents is a plus)
Very Punctual
Willing to work weekends
Homegauge User or familiar with computer generated reports
Reliable vehicle
Ability to be diplomatic with clients AND agents

I have the ability to write very soft reports in an artistic manner to help convince buyers to buy the home. My previous position was working at a Real Estate office writing copy for their MLS listings. I see from your sample reports that you like to accentuate the positive sides of the home rather than dwell on the negatives. That is a very positive attitude to have and more Home Inspectors should do this to help facilitate the sale rather than kill the Real Estate Agent deal. My many years of creative writing skills can help you there in that aspect.

My verbal skills far exceed most others. I am able to effectively communicate in such a way that your clients will be impressed and believe that my technical skills might well be as vast as I will claim them to be, even though I have no home inspection experience.

Good computer skills

As an accomplished and effective writer and orator the computer is a necessity and not a desire. As a result I have been able to master all technical aspects of the computer and technical world. This has resulted in my being awarded a long term assignment writing policies and procedures for my previous employer the Warden. Hopefully my previous employment will not hold me back from your selection. There is no need to worry as I have been fully paroled and the circumstances were very minor that placed me there. It should be a positive attribute though as the last job displays very long term commitment and that I do not move from one position to the next.

IR training a plus

I have extensive experience in Intensive Rehab environments and can meet your needs in this area.

Good industry relationships (Knowing agents is a plus)

I have many good relationships in the industry and do know quite a few Agents. Many of the Agents I have dealings with are highly decorated and motivated law enforcement specialists. I harbor no ill will to those who helped me obtain my last assignment as they were only doing their jobs. As a result of this my name has made it around the industry and I am now a well liked person.

Very Punctual

My last assignment required strict punctuality rules and this is an expected for me. After all of those years of punctuality requirements the habits are well ingrained and hard to shake.

Willing to work weekends

In my last assignment we worked seven days a week and weekends are not an issue.

Homegauge User or familiar with computer generated reports

I am very familiar with computer generated reporting systems and have extensive experience with, and reporting in, the following reporting systems.

After reading your sample reports it appears that there is very little training or experience needed for this job. Is that the case?
Is this an hourly pay position or is it a piece work pay position? Do I have a choice either way? After reading your sample reports I firmly believe both I and you can profit greatly by piece work instead. Considering their depth I believe I can do at least 10 or 12 of these home inspections each day.
If I sell additional services or products with each home inspection do I receive a commission for those?
