We are currently seeking to hire an experienced Facilities Inspector/Civil Engineering Technician as an addition to our growing Engineering and Planning staff.
Summary/General Description of Job***:***
*Responsible for the inspection of buildings and facilities as well as assisting in the application of principles, methods, and techniques of civil engineering technology. *****
Essential Duties and Job Functions:
*[FONT=Symbol]· [/FONT]Reviews project specifications and confers with Civil Engineer concerning assistance required, such as plan preparation, evaluation of field conditions, design changes, and reports. *
*[FONT=Symbol]· [/FONT]Applies engineering knowledge necessary to conduct inspections of sites. *
*[FONT=Symbol]· [/FONT]Prepares reports detailing Facility Inspections. *
*[FONT=Symbol]· [/FONT]Surveys project sites for inspection as needed, using maps and surveying equipment. *
*[FONT=Symbol]· [/FONT]Drafts detailed dimensional drawings such as those needed for structural steel fabrication. *
[FONT=Symbol]· [/FONT]Calculates dimensions and quantities of materials such as steel, concrete, and asphalt, using calculator.
[FONT=Symbol]· [/FONT]Supports the project Safety Plan through personal involvement in all aspects of safety, including training and attention to the adherence to safety requirements pertaining to particular trades or skills.
[FONT=Symbol]· [/FONT]Ensures proper housekeeping practices are observed.
Job Requirements (Education, Skills & Experience):

[FONT=Symbol]· [/FONT]Valid state driver’s license, with acceptable driving record.
[FONT=Symbol]· [/FONT]Verbal and written communication skills
[FONT=Symbol]· [/FONT]2 years of experience as a working drafter, surveyor, and/or facilities/buildings inspector
[FONT=Symbol]· [/FONT]The ability to complete accurate sketches and drawings from field surveys

[FONT=Symbol]· [/FONT]Associates Degree in facility Design
[FONT=Symbol]· [/FONT]Proficient in Micro-station and Auto Cad
[FONT=Symbol]· [/FONT]Knowledge of ADA and Army regulations or ability to find and use them
