Not quite the same but this one trip to Germany I had a Ford Fiesta ST. This is a 3 cylinder rocket ship to fun. I seriously looked into buying one of these in the US but the US version is a neutered POS. It’s a 200HP, row your own, rollerskate with Ricaro seats and and a race suspension. Absolutely the most fun rental car I’ve ever had. I’m pretty sure it pipes engine sounds into the interior for and extra bit of fun.
The A6 I rented the one time. It was just pleasant. Diesel too.
Oh and I had a Mini Clubman once. 6 gears and I think I got it to 180kph or so and it just flat out ran out of steam.
