Gas Fireplace In All Electric Building

That was my observation.
Vent or unventilated would obviously be a concern.
The 20 LB of flammable liquid pressurized gas is my concern.
If there is a building fire you have all these tiny bombs going off.

Many ventless appliances have an O2 depletion valve BUT how does the HI test that and suck the oxygen out of a room to insure it works?

• Handheld natural gas leak detector
• Detects hydrocarbon and combustible fuel gases (methane, propane, butane, LPG, etc.)
• Accurate and highly sensitive, uses a new generation of solid state sensor
• Inaccessible points can be reached with the 8" long flexible probe
• Led scale and beeper to effectively pinpoint small leaks

See if your state of city, town code allow unventilated fireplaces andindoor storage of 20 lb propane.

You don’t test it any more than you test a heat detector or fuse.

It is a very stable and simple design.

If there is not sufficient O2 in the room the pilot flame does not burn hot enough to keep the gas valve open.

And I believe all ventless devices meant for indoor use have an O2 depletion sensor.

And I believeall **vent-less **devices meant for indoor use have an O2 depletion sensor.
If the sensor fails Michel?
Would it be better to double check? Takes a minute.
People tamper with almost everything. Then degrading, broken, ineffective parts.
People tamper with anything. No double taps. Why open Panel?

And how do you propose checking it?

Not check the device but test for CO.

Which tells you absolutely nothing about how the O2 depletion sensor is functioning.

True Michrl. It detects CO . The HI is a time stamp only. No warrenty or guarentee.I want to test for gas. Presance of Co.

Like I said / Not feasible test for HI.

Local fire dept warns against using these to start / If used surround with CO monitors checked regularly.

One other thing HOW about the ventless FP in the master bedroom suite or bath?
