For anybody inspecting a home in the New England area or any area that has been subject to recent basement flooding, State Water Heaters put out a posting at the plumbing supply houses stateing any water heater that was subject to flooding above the gas valve is considered “*no good and should be replace”. *Take it for what it is worth. That would probably pretain to any gas valve on a boiler or furnace.
