On older homes built i 1960 Through 2017-I see in the industries haven’t change.
Sample home built 1960-Have Gas Water Heater but no combustion venting present.
Sample home built 2016 Gas water & Gas Furnace no combustion venting present.
Sample home built 2017 Gas water & Gas Furnace combustion venting present.
The homes built in Florida but this county, It seem to be they make up their own rules.

Is there anything in place on combustion venting for all homes. 1960 through 2017
Water heaters or Gas furnaces all should have combustion venting-even if the water heater or furnace have a seal chamber to protect the pilot light.
