Without Technology we would still be getting 2-3 MPG in our cars.
industrialization doesnt mean what bit used to. When a new factory or plant opens up it doesnt necessarily bring more jobs usually just more products everything is ran with alot less man power the bottom line is what is most important and trust me its not mine or yours that these companies are worried about. Thats my slant look you guys running your own show great job im sure you worked hard and got to a comfortable place , but its getting hharder to do that.

After deciding which post to quote…
Kevin,
A new factory (your example) will bring in how many new jobs? The answer is certainly not zero. Someone has to at least turn the machines on.
Who designed that factory?
Provided materials for that factory?
Who builds that factory?
Sweeps the floor?
Maintains the machines?
Yes, many jobs are now automated, but jobs were also created - jobs to develop, build and maintain the machinery that is doing what a human used to do.
Don’t take it personal Kevin.
Let’s hear your ideas but don’t expect everyone to accept them without rational argument.
humans used to do it all without as much need for fuel is the point .
Would we be able to feed the world or engage in commerce without “fuel”?
I enjoy this conversation it is something that we all need to start thinking of big changes I think though . I have kids and dont know what the world will be like in 20 years when there grown its kinda scary.
It is scary( I think it always has been) but what are you concerned about the most?
We have put our selves into that situation where we have to have the fuel now its not an option your right ,without it we would not be able to do those things without fuel .But as i said thats because we’ve come full circle.
Im conscerned that we will end up with two classes the wealthy and the poor
Since it not likely our fuel needs will diminish anytime in either of our lifetimes what do you think the answers might look like?
Actually, probably less fuel is used because people don’t need to drive to the factory.
I too have young children. I am concerned that Mario’s $600+/gal of gas may be a reality for them. Of course that’s an exageration, but its a concern that we haven’t adressed as a nation and those in power continue to do nothing.
Side note - read an article the other day about Jimmy Carter (sorry Mike )
and his thoughts on our country’s energy (oil) dependancy back in the 70’s. Boy does he look like a visionary now.
Do the poor have a better chance of being less poor because of “industrialization” ?
If they produce needed goods, doesn’t that increase their lot in life?
If they are allowed to keep the fruits of their labor would they not benefit?
its not whether theyll dimenish but become another burden for the regular working class man to have to worry about, It already has look i work in construction I am stilll working but thousands arent . And it has alot to do with fuel .
Why have fuel costs become so high in your opinion?
Not going to happen!
Your not opposed to a two class society???
I’m opposed to those who will not give freedom to their people to make their own way in the world.
Look around at the worlds poor and see how their governments restrain freedom.
