GFCI in Kitchens

Does anyone know the date that the National Building Code of CANADA added GFCI receptacles for kitchens near sinks?

Sorry. I can’t give a date but I think it will be recent.

Homes built in the past 5 yrs or so have 20 amp feeds and GFCI receptacles

GFCI can’t be done on splits unless its done at the panel.

In 2008 they changed the National Electrical code. Before that they were only needed in bathrooms and exterior receptacles.
