H.e.a.t.

I was wondering if anyone else used this product to test heat exchangers.

H.E.A.T. (heat exchanger analyzer tester)

Basicly, for those not familiar with this product, you spray the product into the blower compartment opposite the blower for 45 seconds. If the heat exchanger has a hole in it, the spray will alter the flame pattern. Fairly simple I guess, I was just wondering if anyone else used this stuff.

Interesting

I have never tried it. But I heard it is cheap and easy.

I do like it cheap and easy!! :expressionless:) :expressionless:)

Can they be used in fuel oil fired furnaces?

No. Go to archives link http://www.nachi.org/bbsystem/viewtopic.php?t=11640&highlight=haet+exchanger and look for the tip on inspecting oil furnaces from Timken’s service guide. Has something to do with tossing a scrap of tar paper into the pot. :bug:
