I just realized I haven’t heard from Andre for a couple months and am starting to worry about him. Any recent data-points? I think it’s been a couple months for me and used to get a couple a week.

I didn’t get that many, but now that you mention it, I’ve not had any in months on end.
I used to get the generic text “I am needing your quote for an inspection at xxxx” quite a bit.
Within the last month, I got a similar text…turns out it was legit! A friend of a realtor I deal with was very chummy and I thought…here we go. Also slow to respond to texts too and then she finally said “Kristen said you may have availability”.

I haven’t received any in months, then bang! I received one this morning. Coincidence?
Is it possible that people have finally wised up to it all and it is no longer worth their time?
Or is it a case of it being a tough economy for that profession and they had to take a job at Buffalo Wild Wings to keep a roof over their heads?

I have a few fake names, ready for the next scams. I love dangling that refund in their face until they realize they have been played.

Ironically, that job would be better for a scammer as they have access to people’s credit cards. Although, many places are going to the handheld machines so their cards don’t leave their sight. In a somewhat related rant, the place I bartend part-time has me hold onto credit cards for tabs and the guests are VERY reluctant. I think it might even technically be illegal in some places. The really dumb thing is the system (called Toast) has the ability for me to swipe and store the CC info but they won’t enable it. I try to be a good worker and not complain but it’s hard at times
