Help. My START menu is on the right of my screen.

My START menu and open windows and emails appear to the right of my screen instead of the bottom. I am using Windows XP.

How do I move that stuff to the bottom of my screen?

Can’t you “left click”, hold and pull it to where you want it?

Turn your monitor 90 degrees clockwise…

That has happened to me a number of times. Why? Who the hell knows? I / you probably hit some odd combination of keys that prompted the move, like when I accidently discovered how to skip to level 6 from level 3 in Super Mario Brothers years ago when I was playing my then 3 y. o. son.

Mine eventually repositions itself to the bottom as mysteriously as it moved. Yours probably will to.

Guys,

Just go to a blank space on the task bar hold down the left mouse key and drag the whole bar to whatever location(top, bottom, left, right) you would like it. Try it now so you know how to “fix” it when it happens next time.

James is right. Left click while pointing at the bar, then drag it and drop it on the bottom of the screen.

A left click and drag it to the bottom again should work. Once you have it back where you want it, if you will right click on the bar, a pop up window will, well pop up, and you can click on “Lock the taskbar” forever ending this nasty predicament.

Is there ever a time when one would want to move the taskbar? And can one “Unlock the taskbar”?

Right click on a blank portion of the task bar. You can choose to lock or unlock it there.

Just do as you did before three times and it should be just where you want .
Always glad to help .

Thanks guys, it worked.

John, your idea worked too.

Hello Brett,

I see you are fairly new to NACHI. On MB we prefer it please if you could re frame from using the words James and right in the post.

Very true, Carl, you undoubtedly hit the nail on the head; you are precise and factual in this statement.
In other words (and in another sentence), you are right.

Aw, shucks, Hank!

Carl, I’d never make fun of you - in print.
In fact, I would not dare to make fun of you in person, cuz I have NF idea of what you are saying, 85% of the time, and you may actually be correct (not right, mind you).
Carl.

(notice your name  is still not in the same sentence . . .)
