Hey Ray, why don't you come back to InterNACHI. The past is the past.

Hey Nick

You and I go back a number of years. Remember the first Nachi meeting you held up in Barrie, Roy and I were there and help set things up?

I like to think we have a love hate relationship, even though we always don’t see eye to eye on things we have always been able to communicate to one another privately.

Many do not Know . The First NACHI meeting was started by a Fireman from Orillia was held in Barrie
one week before the date The Fireman called me and said he was not available to run the meeting .
I called Raymond Wand and Robert Francis ,
With Chars help the Four of us Held the first NACHI meeting in Canada .
I was to start the meeting till Nick got there . Well I was told Nick was held up in a snow storm and away I went Talked for about two Plus hours with the help of the greatest Group of home Inspectors asking questions giving answers and supplying information … Nick arrived and things went great .
I was told by more then one person How great the meeting was and how much was learned .
We did some fancy scrambling to get food for all . I think we had about 60~ people there.

Well the second NACHI Canadian Meeting was set up at Humber college and a short time before the meeting Again I got the Phone Call His Mother-in law had died , And would I look after the meeting .
Well Back to Ray and Robert ,Char and Roy .
Again we ran the meeting Fortunately this was well planned and Nick was not late and it went extremely well .
Well I and Char where involved from the get go for the Toronto NACHI conference . Nachi had Looked after most of it with some help supplied By about 6 NACHI members .

Again My Buddy Ray was a huge help at the conference .

Ray has done a lot for the home Inspection industry in Canada .
Nick wanting Ray back is a good thing and can only help our industry In Canada .
What has happened before with NACHI is unfortunate and
Very few know how it happened and digging it up will do no good .

I whole-heartedly agree, so why not put an end to board moderation all together.

Roy

Thats right I forgot about Humber College.

I also remember helping at the Nachi conference held in Toronto by wheeling in some large boxes and cases for Nicks assistant. I forget her name now.

We also had another meeting in a restaurant that John Bowman (?) came up for.

Another meeting at one of the airport strip restaurants with Tyrone Wheeler who was helping Nick at the time.

We sure had some good times! Nick has always been a generous man.

Members aren’t moderated at all.
Many non-member users have unmoderated status.
Of the rest of the message board users that are left, 99%+ of their posts are approved.

There are MANY former non-members who are professionals, or specialist, in specific fields who no longer post here. Waiting sometimes hours or even days for their post to get approved was not worth the effort.

Their advice and expertise is greatly missed, I’m sure many members who have been here more than 2 yrs. will agree.

If they ask, or a member asks for them, we’ll give them unmoderated status too.

Unmoderated status should be given to experts in a specific field that can be helpful. Home Inspectors should not have that status since they have made a conscious choice to NOT JOIN Nachi. Those with unmoderated status are still not members and should they speak bad about the organization, they should lose their status immediately. JMHO.

Isn’t she a CMI ???

Bringing wand back is a HUGE slap in the face to the membership, Joe F and all the ESOP members. There’s no difference between him and Tedesco and you want to bring wand back. unbelievable…

Hey Bazzo who said I was coming back?

Like it’s Ray’s decision to make!!

Nick has made his decision and has invited Ray Wand back to the fold.

While I have my own personal feelings about this particular former member that I will keep to myself for the time being, I will speak on Nick’s invitation to him to return.

I’ve been a member of NACHI since 2004 and have personally dealt with Nick on hundreds of issues. We have exchanged late night discussions on personal and professional topics and we have had bloody, public gladiator-like fights to the death on this message board (many entire threads were deleted as a result). We have been in battles for each other with various individuals and associations out to harm him and those supporting him (such as myself) … and NACHI … that few even know about, since there is (believe it or not) more to NACHI than a message board.

In every issue … pro or con … no matter if we were on the same side of the issue or not … Nick has consistently and quite dependably always held what he considered to be the best interests of NACHI at heart.

He has been loyal to that commitment … and loyal to every member who has participated with the association (to the point of even giving Joe Tedesco the opportunity to return)…whether they were loyal to him or not. Nick has always been more loyal to the membership than we have been to him (myself, included), in return.

Nick is a rare breed who invites confrontation from his critics and uses them to advance (and sometimes, even to modify) his progress, and that of NACHI.

With all of that being said…while it may not be obvious to all of us, Nick has a purpose for this in his broader plans for NACHI and he would do nothing to harm his “baby”. In this case, those of us who disagree with his invitation all have the luxury of the “Ignore” option — and I use mine quite liberally.

Whether you agree or not with this invitation … I think you can agree that Nick has a reason for this, and we have an “ignore” option that filters out all the trash that we don’t want to read.

Afraid it is my decision whether I accept or not. Duh!

If you accept Nick’s offer… let me be the first to say WELCOME BACK…
You and Roy have a long history with InterNACHI.
