County Building Inspectors on the short end

Hillsborough pays private inspectors 3 times as much

$23.50 hr is surprisingly low but on the other hand paying a private company $58 hr is pretty low also.

They would have to pay the inspector’s salary, pay taxes in his name, provide workers comp for him, probably health insurance, vacations, holidays, among others and the company still needs to make a little profit off of him.

$58 is not so bad.

I always like to hear the logic behind it all. Sometimes it makes sense and other times it’s inside politics and stinks
