I ran across this today. Someone knocked a four and half - by - 2 foot hole in the outer masonry block wall of the foundation. It makes room for the return and supply ducts for a gas pack. There is no support above the hole for the remaining portion of the foundation and the walls of the house. I was hoping to see a piece of angle iron above the top of the hole. Will this continue to support the house properly? I would say no, and refer it to a foundation specialist for repair. Feedback would be appreciated.
