I turned on a shower (new install in an old shack) and got a load of rusty water. (Some copper pipe going into the crawl, but mostly old corroded galvanized supply lines.) While attempting to rinse the discolored water from the soap shelf in the shower with hot water, my CO detector rings up 40+ readings. I think to myself ‘Great, my detector is freaking.’ I go to the kitchen sink, as the detector is getting back to normal, turn on the hot water and soom, back to 40+.
Doesn't happen on other systems with gas water heaters. Any thoughts? Similar experiences?
