How does everyone prononce NACHI?

Do you pronounce it with the AHHH sound, like in "nachos"?
Or with a short "A" sound?

Does the CH have a hard sound like in "nachos"?
Or is it a soft sound like SH?

Just a debate my friend and I had. I'm originally from NJ so I say it with the short A sound and hard CH.

NACHI-

Pronunciation: 'n?-(")chee

I looked up nacho, according to Mr. Webster, and change the o to ee. ![icon_biggrin.gif](upload://iKNGSw3qcRIEmXySa8gItY6Gczg.gif)
It also helps if you smile when you say it.

Hey Gerry,

No offense but I think your version sounds too much like the "other organization" with an N. English, American, Whatever, We just can't go there.

Cheers

Mexican taco makers use this pronunciation.

"NA-SHE" is the correct way of pronouncing this organizations' name. In my part of the woods, anyways. I guess it depends on what sort of accent you may have.

I call it National Association of Certified Home Inspectors since most don’t know what NACHI is anyway.

I know this doesn't answer the question but I just wanted to throw in my two cents.

If anyone wants do donate any money, I raise my two cents of opinions. ![icon_wink.gif](upload://ssT9V5t45yjlgXqiFRXL04eXtqw.gif)

I'm still trying to figure this one out. Silent "A"?

That would sound like what. . . a sneeze?

Couldn't let that one pass ... ![icon_cool.gif](upload://oPnLkqdJc33Dyf2uA3TQwRkfhwd.gif)

Just so you are aware, we speak "English" ... not the "Kings English", or whatever gibberish that stuff really is. Geeeeshe, sometimes you would think those english blokes actually believe they invented the english language ... ![icon_cool.gif](upload://oPnLkqdJc33Dyf2uA3TQwRkfhwd.gif)

(DUCK) ...

And I'm with Dave ... it's "Na-She" (gives it a nice ring ... lol)
