Im looking to get into the home inspection field. I have worked as a builder in the navy for the past 2 years, and have taken the pcdi home inspector course. Im curious about attending ITA here in oceanside, but was wondering is it really necessary? Would home inspecton companies be willing to hire me on my current education alone, would attending an institute like ITA REALLY make that difference in finding work?

Hi Keith,

I do not feel that there is any substitute for a good HI education as even experienced contractors are not familiar with thecommon reportable issues and standards. the other thing that you would be well advised to do is to see if you can find an existing inspector outside of your immediate area who would be prepared to have you ride along on a couple of inspections.

regards

Gerry
