I have one more essay to complete in the How to Perform Deck Inspections Course but don’t have access to anything directly related to a deck system or component. Would inspecting a metal railing be sufficient to complete the assignment?
Cheers!

You can just pull a picture down from the internet and base your essay on that. Here is an easy one for you.

Here is the same photo (zoomable)… that you can actually see all the defects, (yes, more than one),…
Much better.
Three defects for sure. Can anyone find more than three?

Hi Ryan, appreciate your reply but are you 100% positive that I can use images off the internet?
The instruction states:
INSPECTION : Perform a visual-only inspection according to the Home Inspection Standards of Practice. Inspect a system or component covered in the course that is directly related to a deck system or component. If you don’t have a deck available, inspect a set of stairs, wooden steps, a railing, floor joists, lag bolt fasteners, etc .
Please let me know at your earliest convenience.
Cheers!

The answer to you question is in your own post. If you are still unsure, send an inquiry to Internachi Education directly, as only they can answer your question with 100% certainty.
Hi Jeffrey, that’s what I’ve done, so as to confirm and save time.
Cheers!
