I am going to start wearing a helmet during my inspections

Unfortunately, they make it an emotional issue and can get too many people riled up against an issue like that. Then we start losing our rights so they can fell better.

The world would be a far better place without them for sure.

There was this man who lost his right to own a firearm to protect his family and home. Being the hardworking person he had always had many talents. He made his own weapon in his shop. His house was broken into late one night and his homemade weapon came in real handy as he dispatched the intruder from the world of the living. He could call the police and tell them what happened but decided it was not worth the risk of going to jail so he decided to dispose of this bad guy by burying him out in the woods. Nobody ever found that guy. Missing person signs were everywhere. Nobody ever came forward to say the last place we recall him going was to break in the old mans house.

You are just a doom and gloom type of fella that thinks the whole world is out to get you…keep living all terrified:mrgreen:

No I protect myself, my family and all the innocent I can. You “sound” not saying you are, Like a fool. I hope your loved ones do not pay the price for your ignorance.

I am not trying to be a prick but this is a terribly serious issue and folks with your attitude are the problem. If more thought like me the bad guys would sure as f-ck think twice.

If your homestead is that scary of a place why don’t you move?

Nobody has a gun to your head…or do they.

I’m not saying that people shouldn’t be able to protect themselves and I have absolutely no problem with people being allowed to carry firearms to protect themselves, what I’m wondering is why do you need a separate law saying you can defend yourself?

Here in Ohio and in the majority of the other states if I thought that my life was in danger or that someone was attempting to cause me bodily harm I have a right to defend myself, I would guess that Florida has something similar on the books.

What I’m curious about is why a state would have to add another law that basically says the same as the one that says you can defend yourself…

I have no desire to debate it with you.

You will be a witness I will be the difference.

Just stay an inspector and observe, that has never been my style. I’ll take care of mine and the innocent that cannot take care of themselves.

You go maverick!

The world needs more Mavericks to make a difference and not just accept the s-it the scumbags dish out :frowning:

Why would not comment on a law you do not know?

Read it and tell us what is so bad about it.

Why waste your breath or your typing? THOSE TYPES WILL NEVER see the light. Till it is the LIGHT :frowning: then it will be far to late for them.

It is not about him, it is about everyone else that reads the message board.

You should know that about me.

I’m just happy for a change we seem to be on the same page.

I agree too. Some people just don’t get it.

John, in #3 of your post, the part that has to do with the “stand your ground” law, doesn’t that say the same thing as any other states “self defense” law?

If you feel that your life is in danger or you feel someone is going to do bodily harm to you, you have a right to defend yourself. Agreed.

I’m not saying that it is a bad law, what I’m asking is why do you need a separate law on top of a regular self defense law?

Mike, I would agree with you that there are a lot of people that should be removed from this planet, I’m not so sure that your average resident is the one to do it.

The most self defense laws indicate that you have a duty to retreat. Some indicate you should even leave your home if attacked and if possible. A stand your ground law indicated you have no duty to retreat, from certain areas, ie., your car, work, or home. This stops a victim from being prosecuted or convicted if they do not leave, given the opportunity. This leaves the perpetrator in a bad position, not the victim. The victim can legally defend themselves IF THEY believe their life(or another in certain cases) is in danger or fear GREAT bodily harm.

So one says you can defend yourself, the other says you do not have to retreat if you are legally allowed to be there.

If you walk up to my car and hit me I have no duty to retreat and now if I believe I am in danger of great bodily harm or more I can defend my life with deadly force. Before the stand your ground, I should have made an effort to get away.

This also goes for rape victims, before they would have to try to get away. With fear of getting caught, many would just stay and this was used against them in court.

I would assume if we were to re-write the laws they could be put as one law. Since we almost never do that, they are separate.

The beauty and scary part of this is “I have to believe” that my life is in danger or fear of great bodily harm, not you, the perp or the jury. This is the difficult part and the part perpetrators should take notice to. One could say that a threat could give me a fear and they I have a right to defend.

These laws take the power away from the perpetrators and the prosecutors and put it back the victims hands. It is, what is done with that power, no matter who has it, that is scary. I personally would rather keep it, because I will never be the perpetrator.

“When guns become outlawed, I will be an outlaw.”

I also study MMA, Jeet Kune Do, and Kali because I never want to be the victim or have to use deadly force, besides they are fun but so is shooting.

They are not

If all " Not mental cases or general BAD folks" were allowed to OPEN carry I think that would be the best but if we all just had the right to carry concealed then criminals for sure would think twice.

I believe just about all the cowards that pull off the mass stuff would not try because most are scared someone else will kill or hurt them.

THERE SHOULD ALSO BE NO gun free zones as that is where most of the problems happen.

We as a society need to look out for our own. I went to my neighbors door last night with a gun tucked in my waistband “concealed” because the kids heard her yell help. I have come to the aid of most of my direst neighbors more than once for a multitude of reasons. I have yet needed my gun but have had it on most except medical reasons.

Dave you say if you are in fear or whatever you should move. I was in Martial Arts most of my life and one thing you learn is there is ALWAYS the potential for danger.

If you live in South Florida and watch the news EVERYDAY like I do you would realize you CANNOT predict when trouble will stike.

One day my daughter said to me Really dad why do you need you revolver in the DOLLAR store? I explained that it is because I always have it for the protection of our family and those who cannot protect themselves. Needless to say there was an instance where some fool actually robbed and held hostage folks in the dollar store and a clerk was killed.

If you can and have the right to carry you should it is not paranoid it is being prepared for the worse. I even have a plan and code word that my Wife and Daughter know about. If they realize it is going down they are to hit the dirt on the code word and they are not to panic if I appear to be losing it and begging and crying.

Life is TO PRECIOUS to not have a plan and be prepared to protect those you love.

My main reason is that I could not LIVE with the fact that someone took them away from me and I did nothing to prevent it. I have also changed many bad habits and things I used to do when I was young before I had a child to assure I NEVER lose my right to be prepared to protect the Wife and Daughter.

I have a bad habit of acting BEFORE thinking when folks are in danger and need help. I help instantly without thinking. Hopefully now that I have a Daughter that needs me things may have changed a little but I doubt it. I imagine I would still throw myself into immediate danger if a child was in danger I do not think I could prevent it.

Good luck to all reading this and I hope nothing bad ever happens to any of you but I sure wish you ALL would take precautions and be ready to act if the worse ever comes your way. Good Luck and Be Safe.,

Dumb *** libtards will never get it!

Amen Brother and Happy New Year to ya.

If it’s what you have Peter I don’t want it:mrgreen:
