Important political quotes disregarded...

Nick,

Why do you use “Karl Rove” as a cuss word. I don’t know him. Do you?

What has he done that so infuriates you?

For being the mad scientist behind the GOP’s negative, fear-mongering approach to campaigns. Good thing is that he shall soon be an afterthought, for his brand of slime ball politics now has the NeoConArtists of the GOP on the outside looking in, unable to push their filth upon the American people.

So how do you feel about Terry McCauliffe or Howard Dean or James Carville?

You don’t mention them. What’s up with that?

When the DemocRAT’s campaigning strategy changes from hollow euphonisms and “we’re not Bush!” to "you have to vote for us to defeat the GOP because they are a bunch of extremist theocrats who will arm every thug to the teeth with guns, steal all of our basic human rights under the guise of the war on terror, … , … , … ", you will hear me use their names as pejoratives.

And another Obama consensus maker speaks. It’s an Obamanation.

Will, I am just taking him at his word, he has publically revealed his plans.

I don’t know why Nick keeps blaming the GOP for running a scare campaign, I got angry at them for not revealing the truth more until late in the game, kind of like GHWB did. Also, why does he keep accusing us of not being able to make up our own minds. I am not hanging by strings, nor do I have a hand up me arse!

Sure you aren’t … :sarcasm:

I bit my lip for a while when you went Chicken Little every time an off-the-wall NeoCon “expose” on Obama surfaced from an uncredible ultra-right wing website and when you made rediculous assumptions based on instances like a drunken college student holding up a Soviet flag at an Obama rally. And now you expect us to believe that all this smear crap was legitimate and that you weren’t duped by it?!!!

Nick, please review this definition of NeoCon and tell what you disagree with.

This article is about neoconservatism in the United States.

**Neoconservatism**](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neoconservatism) is a political philosophy that emerged in the United States from the rejection of the [social liberalism](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Social_liberalism), [moral relativism](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moral_relativism), and [New Left](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_Left) [counterculture](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Counterculture) of the 1960s.*[citation needed](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Citation_needed)*] In the United States, neoconservatives align themselves with mainstream conservative values, such as the free market, limited welfare, and traditional cultural values.*[citation needed](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Citation_needed)*] Their key distinction is in international affairs, where they prefer an interventionist approach that seeks to defend national interests.*[citation needed](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Citation_needed)*] Nowadays, the term is widely used to describe people, especially politicians, who oppose government regulation of goods and services in general.

The term neoconservative was originally used as a criticism against liberals who had “moved to the right”.[1]](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neoconservatism#cite_note-goldberg-0)[2]](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neoconservatism#cite_note-1) Michael Harrington, a democratic socialist, coined the usage of neoconservative in a 1973 Dissent magazine article concerning welfare policy.[3]](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neoconservatism#cite_note-2) According to E. J. Dionne, the nascent neoconservatives were driven by “the notion that liberalism” had failed and “no longer knew what it was talking about.”[4]](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neoconservatism#cite_note-Dionne-3)

So, you’re relocating to texas?

Gladly! The text in red …

The Bailout Scam, forbidding Medicare to negotiate lower prices, no-bid multi billion dollar Iraq reconstruction contracts to Halliburton, etc. proved they aren’t interested in a free market when it conflicts with their corporate interests.

Limited welfare is strictly limited to those of a lack of political value to the NeoCon cause. Oil companies and other GOP aligned interests enjoy substantial welfare in the form of hefty tax cuts and now enjoy countless billions in free bailout money for failing to running their businesses properly. This is considered welfare because it was not done in our interests but rather to insulate businesses from the consequences of a truly free market, just as food stamps insulate an alcoholic mother of five from the consequences of her inability to put the bottle down and work for a living.

the free market, limited welfare

You sound like talking points from a liberal rag.

**I don’t like the bailout either but it had much wider support among liberals than conservatives.

The Medicare drug benefit was to Bush’s shame IMHO but I don’t think it could be characterized as a “neocon” inspired program.

The no bid contracts don’t bother me as that has been standard practice in many administrations of both parties. “No bid” does not necessarily mean wasteful. there are very few companies in the world that can accomplish what Haliburton can.

I see tax breaks to oil companies and others as incentive to promote certain areas of development. It’s the end user who pays anyway, so in a very real way those tax breaks affect lower the price we all pay.

Now there certainly are tax breaks than make no sense like Ethanol, wind and solar subsidies.

Of Course the 900-LB Gorilla in the room is the three trillion dollar War-To-Nowhere in Iraq, only after that fiscal anchor is cut lose can we hope for a return to prosperity. ](*,)
