Improper MI Windows Installation

While doing an 11-month warranty, it appears that there is an issue with the window installation. The windows are manufactured by MI Windows, a brand that I’m not familiar with. I visited their website, but their recommendations on how to install trim around the windows are vague. Since the J-channel does not extend far enough to channel water past each side of the window, is it possible for water to enter the openings on each side of the window? Your help and comments are appreciated.

I am not sure what this is. Can you share the link to the manufacturer’s installation instructions?

John,

J Channels are not flashing but are cosmetic receivers to hide the cut edges of the vinyl siding. The weird looking trim at the top is Storm Trim and is designed to receive hurricane shutter fasteners for a removable panel type system.
The MI window, and several others have an integral J Channel, the reason for the additional J Channel in this application is due to the Storm Trim which blocks use of hte integral J Channel.
