Sorry about the clarity of the pictures, but what we have here is two aluminum extension ladders stacked on top of each other.


From the ground it looked like they used duct tape and the rope on the ladder that is used to extend it to tie them to the steeple and each other.

Here is a lighted and altered (contrast) photo so you can see the ladder better.


Throw a rope over the cross arm and pull the ladders up. ![icon_smile.gif](upload://b6iczyK1ETUUqRUc4PAkX83GF2O.gif)

I can just see the lower ladder collapsing at about mid span with it at that angle when a person is climbing the ladder and gets to about mid span.
