(October 21, 2004) – A judge in Hamilton County, Ind., has ordered Trinity Homes and parent company Beazer Homes to assess 2,040 homes built between 1998 and 2002 in the metropolitan Indianapolis area and repair any water damage and mold problems resulting from shoddy construction.

The companies will be given a specific timeline in which to conduct the assessments on a case-by-case basis and make any necessary repairs. The $24 million settlement comes in response to a class-action lawsuit filed by the homeowners in 2003.

Michael Rosiello, legal counsel for the builders, believes the settlement is fair to all parties involved.

Of course he does. The lawyers get paid whether they win or lose a case.
