Indoor Air Quality

Has any Inspectors seen this?

yep and the dryflekt diverters are a darn good product to recommend when absence is observed regardless of the wall cladding type

stay well my friend!

Hi Barry,

Good information from DOE Build America Program.
http://apps1.eere.energy.gov/buildings/publications/pdfs/building_america/40percent_mixed_humid.pdf

Chapter 14 is Field Guide for Installers. May be helpful in your training.

It sure would help if the ROOFERS would understand it is the first piece of step flashing THEY need to install.

Hi Bob

We never see kick out here.I call them up every time and get flack for it constantly from the roofers about it.

When they quit saying it is a cladding problem and place the blame on the (roofers) maybe they will open their eyes a little.

Greg

What do the roofers say?

I haven’t seen one in this area yet.
One of the last jobs I was on, I actually made one to show them, and they looked at me kind of funny.:wink:

If any of you ever get the chance to meet Bob do it, he is a nice guy.

It is not required and if it’s not required they are not going to do it.

A 10 dollar fix for millions of dollars in damage.

 • I wonder if they have them on their own homes.*

NOPE!

ignorance or blatant disregard of interpretation by builders, subcontractors, building code officials and inspectors does not excuse or negate the underlying moisture intrusion damage found when kickout diverters are absent

NOPE! at least not the ones i’ve inspected ;~))

when inspectors become aware of a product that can prevent these damages what’s the harm in recommending their installation?

I know when one trys to tell the (cough cough) officials and builders and other trades things are wrong they do not take it very well.

Might be in the tone after a while.

Kinda like a self flashing window.

tell 'em to follow the instructions ;~))

tone adjustment not required if they follow the diagram ;~))

great gobbledeygook

BA

that is art work and is PRICELESS

well no one should have to pay for it anyway

could have said HOUSTON we have a problem

if it was indeed in the Great state of Texas

Texas does not have a monopoly on dumb things
