Applications for measurement and mitigation licenses are now open. According to the included informational flyer below, “An applicant must be certified through either the National Radon Proficiency Program [NRPP] or the National Radon Safety Board [NRSB].”
InterNACHI offers a free, online course “Radon Measurement Professional Initial Training Course” to members that will qualify them to take the NRPP’s certification exam and therefore Colorado’s educational requirement.
I think some of their materials may have had different dates. I took that 07/31st date from email correspondence I’ve had with the agency; however, in looking at the front website, I also see the date as July 1st, 2022.
After searching extensively for the Colorado Radon License Fee, I thought I would simply call DORA (Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies). After being on hold for a surprisingly brief time, I was told the fee was not on their website. The person I spoke with said the “fee for a radon license is $435.00, for testing or mitigation”.
That’s all I was told. Didn’t get any details. I did say “that’s high” and the DORA person on the phone said “yes, it is high”. Would be great if it was $35.00. I was hoping for around $50.00.
Well…I just called DORA again and was again told the radon license fee will be $435.00 this year. The DORA representative said annual renewal may be less but they wont know that until around 6 weeks out from the next licensing cycle/year.
Has there been any update to this information? Such as the fees, or the start date - either 1July or 31July? There was a previous post made last year by Nick Gromiko stating that IAC2 members were exempt from this licensure, is that true? Thanks in advance for any info.
@mgiles , Nick @gromicko never responded to the IAC2 thread. The new law goes into effect July 1st, 2022. Evan posted the fees above . If you are not NRPP or NRSB Certified already it’s going to cost nearly twice that to get licensed…
