First, if that isn’t B-vent pipe, it’s wrong because there is no way there is 6" of clearance from the vent pipe to the combustible wall. And it’s funny someone posted that because I recently re-did my vent piping with B-vent because the pipe passes through a sheetrock wall, and you only need 1" of clearance to combustibles when B-ventis used. But the original hole is bigger, so I need a way to cover the space. I had actually thought about doing what that picture shows, but didn’t want to be a hack. Any better ideas? I can’t use mortar because the clay tile pipe going into the chimney terminates about an inch before it reaches the wall (so the mortar would end up falling into the wall cavity).

That’s perfect. Do you know who the manufacturer is?

Michael,

I would assume you could get one wherever you got the B-vent.

I do have installation PDF's from a few manufacturers.

American Metal Products
Metal-Fab Inc.
Simpson Dura-Vent Inc. (I don't know if this is the same Simpson that makes the Strong-Tie stuff or not)

Sorry I don't have any web addresses, they aren't in the documents.
