Inspectagram press release about selling data

On their front page:

The app that’s ham packed with modern technology and information from real inspectors in the field.

“ham packed”? Is that better than Jam-packed? I’ll still check ‘em out, but that kinda looks like a typo which does not instill confidence in a report writing software. (I should say report righting software)

Ham, jamb, spam… good catch, and I appreciate you pointing it out.

Look, I’m not here to tell anyone how to run their business but we are serious about changing the game or at least bringing it into this century. Our focus is simple: give inspectors full control, their time back and protect client data.

That’s really the whole point behind Nick’s post.

Luke (not a spelling :honeybee: champ but trying)

I’m looking into new software that does both Resi and Commercial (I’m leaving Spectora very soon). Can I get some feedback from experienced Commercial property inspectors, other than @lkirsch2, on a sample report of a Commercial inspection posted on Inspectragam’s website? Do you feel that this would be a good software or reporting style to use for Commercial property inspections?

I have not performed a single commercial property inspection yet. I’m applying for my Commercial DBA tomorrow and will be choosing a new software in about a week or so, give or take depending on a few variables including software testing in the field/office and feedback from my trusted sources.

First, I have an issue with style. Perhaps it can be changed by the user. But in my opinion, no client of mine would take this “shoes with no socks” casual style approach to a Property Condition Report seriously.

Next. Canned defect narratives are severely lacking, leaving the client with no real actionable information and the information appears to be cryptic and vague. Also, which ever SoP you select may effect how useful this software is.

Finally, tons of fluff. Hopefully the inspector has significant control over the content and narratives.

When I looked at it, I felt it was a bit too “relaxed” even for a home inspection, much less a commercial inspection. And that’s with overlooking what was actually written, just looking at the layout and fonts and flow, etc. Not sure how much of it can be customized.

The relaxed, casual, cool, hip, laid back, easy chair attitude is a style choice I cannot support for my business. And the dismal report does not increase confidence in this product.

That said, depending on customization options, the software may be useful. In the end, we only need a way to insert photos and text with as little pain as possible.

Adding charts is also a needed add-on for commercial inspections. And…if the client/user could export these charts, it would be next level. If Lucas could pull that off, this software would have my serious attention.

There is a cool Easter Egg…find this page (it is near the end) and click here.

Funny, I clicked that too. I thought it was weird though being in a report.

It sorta fits the theme of the entire report, eh?
