Chuck: just caught your thread for the first time. Looks to me like that crew busted their --s for you. Thats a good lookin roof from the pics. My only questions are, whats up with the vented type drip edge? How does is work? I’ve been installing "cold roofs for 20 years, but you gotta get the air flowing somehow. Also, is that new flashing along the chimney bent and driven into a sawn channel with step flashings underneath? Did you catch what they did? icon_question.gif Looks like a great product!

Good questions, Yes I watched them install the step flashing, and then saw cut the top flashing in.

With this type of roof they require the vented drip edge to validate the warranty. I had no choice. I guess they finally figured out that ventilation is the main reason for roofs life expectancy. They cut about one inch off of the sheathing edge to install this drip edge. The new drip edge actually takes up about 1 1/2 inch of the gutter.

That a great system then! Anyone who strips and shingles a roof that size in a day and gives that warranty is super. Congracts!!!
