InterNACHI buys back another home after the inspector's E&O insurance company denied the claim

Fair. And good advice. No need to get excited about a sales broker. What’s under the hood is what matters.

The cute little gecko with the Australian accent might be the reptile you pay for the policy, but the claims department is managed by crocodiles.

This is why insurance company choice is so important: A denied insurance claim doesn’t stop the lawsuit.

The scope of work is lacking:

SCOPE OF WORK: Nothing…empty… :flushed:

If the engineer’s recommendation is to be employed, it, typically, is in the “Scope of Work” area…in my experience.

So, as it seems, the “buy back” is a settlement to avoid interNACHI and the faulty inspection of one of their inspectors from being sued and the nasty details going public. Starting to make since…maybe.

I agree. Engineer #1 did not do squat. He had a level and a tape measurer. And recommended this:

So, someone MUST have designed a cure. Where is the person who prescribed the 50+ push piers?

It’s not an engineer’s report, the guy is a foundation contractor. In the letter it clearly states it’s not an engineer or geo report. The house has settled, he thinks it’s due to improper compaction of soil the footing sits on and or drainage. He wants to install 54 push piers to stabilize the foundation.

Furthermore, for HI’s E&O to exclude structural defects makes no sense whatsoever. Who would sell or buy such coverage? Something smells funny about this whole ordeal.
