War is inevitable, whether it be a civil war or WWIII, according to the Strauss–Howe generational theory. It theorizes that the United States has gone through multiple 80-90 years cycles of war and peace and that we are upon our next cycle.
Our last cycle was during WWII 80-85 years ago. . Previous to that was the Civil War 160-164 years ago. And our first was during the Revolutionary War 242-250 years ago.
I disagree with the decision. I’m opposed to trespassing across sovereign borders for the same reason I want a secure border for the U.S. National borders either mean something or they don’t. Trespassing is wrong and trespassers get shot for a reason. No, it isn’t because they are “defending our freedoms.” It’s because trespassers are supposed to get shot. They are on other people’s property.
That said, with Russia tied up in Ukraine, this was probably a good time to do it.
