Is this a defect? Or allowed?

2019 home in CT

Ridge beam on both ends of the house short. Thoughts?

That appears to be a purlin, not a ridge beam. Is this home modular?

Afternoon, Giovanni. Hope to find you well. Visit the message board more often. It appears you last posted on the MB 2 years ago.

It does not appear to be a build-up ridge beam. No corner posts, but I do not want to call it a build-up ridge board as well.

Observation. Attic. Uneven gable roof ridge assembly. Build-up ridge separation not scabbed.

The ridge lumber have been reduced and the reduced lumber ends do not appear to be secured to the larger members.

Defective ridge board assembly.

Are you sure it’s not modular construction. That looks like a “tilt up” roof system from those (limited) photos. Also it looks like the top chords/joists are doubled at that joint, further suggesting they’re pre assembled. Do you have some wider shots of the attic?

I agree, Michael. There is more to the story.

That’s what I thought. Wanted to hear what others thought
Thanks

With the steep roof pitch and the bracing that high up I think it’s going to pass the sniff test.

I was looking at the way it was connected. See where circled. Looks like few nails and sheathing holding it together.
New build 2019 so I’m thinking it passed town inspection?
